Located on Burrill Point, Bellhouse Park offers excellent views of busy Active Pass, Mayne Island, and the Strait of Georgia and is a great vantage point from with to observe the ferries passing between the Gulf Islands and to watch for whales travelling through.
Humpback whale numbers have been recovering since whaling was banned off Canada’s Pacific coast in 1966. Pacific white-sided dolphins, killer whales, and grey whales have also returned, now that these waters are recovering from past industrial activities and pollution.
