Hello everyone,

I hope this finds you safe and well. Like most of you we’ve been hunkering down, laying low, not quite sure what day it is…

Turns out it’s May 5 – time to Give Big! Give Big is an annual community fundraising event. Support The Whale Trail and donate anytime between now and midnight tomorrow, May 6th. With your help we will:

  • CONNECT. Make it easier for people to learn about where and when to watch whales and other marine mammals along the west coast.
  • PROTECT. Keep leading the effort to reduce noise and disturbance around the southern resident orcas, and give them the best chance to find what food is there.
  • INSPIRE. Pivot our programs and materials to reach people where they are. Stay tuned for Orca Talks Online!

The Whale Trail is rooted in a rare conservation success – the rescue and rehabilitation of the orphaned orca, Springer. Today Springer is thriving, tending her two calves. She is living proof that when we work together, and put the whales’ best interest first, miracles can happen – nature can heal. The Whale Trail was founded in that same spirit. With your help, we will keep it going.

We know this is a tough time for everyone. Give what you can – we are grateful for your friendship and support, and gifts of any size.

Please stay well, stay home, and thank you from the bottom of our whale-loving hearts!
