MAP AND DIRECTIONS

TRAVEL TIPS

Driving directions to San Juan County Park from downtown Friday Harbor: Follow Spring Street ( the main drag of Friday Harbor ) up and out of town. Take a left onto Douglas Road and continue on this road until you reach a 90° turn. Take this turn to the right. At this point the road changes from Douglas Road into Bailer Hill Road. Continue on this road up and over the hill and along the coastline of San Juan Islands West side. You will pass Lime Kiln State Park on your left. Continue for approximately 2 miles and as you come down the hill you will see signs for San Juan County Park on your left hand side. The park is approximately 12 miles from Friday Harbor or about 20 minutes.

PARKING

Park in Day Use Spots Only. San Juan County Park has limited day use parking. Please be sure to park in the spaces that are designated for day use only. Day use parking, with room for approximately 16 vehicles, is located north of the park office and Smallpox Bay, adjacent to the day use field overlooking the water.

Campground Parking Spaces are Reserved. Parking spaces adjacent to campsites are reserved for overnight campers only. Help us make sure that everyone who visits the park has a good experience by respecting the rights of people who have reserved a campsite. Don’t park in campsite spaces!

Slow Down! The speed limit in the park is 10 MPH.  We understand how exciting it is to see the whales – don’t put lives at risk in your hurry to see them!
