AMENITIES

Boat Launch, Picnic Facilities, Restrooms, Trails, Wheelchair Accessible

Stroll along a 1.1-mile boardwalk adjacent to Puget Sound. This urban waterscape is a hub for diving, fishing, and dining. Stop by the MaST Environmental Center which features an aquarium with touch tanks, a monthly speaker series, and a gray whale exhibit. (MaST is temporarily closed due to COVID restrictions.)

Look for the Whale Trail sign on the Boardwalk between MaST and the Fishing Pier – and conveniently close to an espresso stand!

WHERE THE WHALES ARE

Seals, sea lions and river otters are commonly seen around the pier. Look west towards Vashon Island to spot whales. Resident orcas (J, K and L pods) are most often seen October through February. Bigg’s (transient) orcas might be seen throughout the year. Humpbacks and gray whales are occasionally seen in spring and summer
