Last Tuesday we hosted a lecture about pesticides and orcas featuring researchers Clement Furlong and Lisa Wyatt from the UW Superfund Research Program. Local orca researchers Mark and Maya Sears also gave updates about recent encounters with J and K pods.

Read the excellent recap from the West Seattle Blog:

Up close with the orcas, and scientists’ discovery of another threat to them, on The Whale Trail

With permission from Lisa and Clem, we’ve also posted a pdf of their presentation.

Thanks to our speakers, volunteers, and everyone who attended. Special thanks to Woody Moses and everyone from NAME; event coordinator Faye Kennedy; and volunteers Felicia and Stephen for the wonderful cookies!
