Mapping Ocean Noise

Noise pollution is an ever-increasing threat to orcas and other cetaceans worldwide. NOAA is leading a remarkable effort to “document human-made noises in the ocean and transform the results into the world’s first large sound maps.” (NY Times, 12/11/12) Read more about it here.
